A day ( our last) of freeway driving, however, we are now on the pan American
highway... the two highlights were, other than car car running perfectly, a road
block of many police, all quite serious looking.... Waited in line for our turn,
ready for questioning.... ! Ready being, when we pulled up, we started Charlie's
favorite Cucu racha song which blasted away from the speaker under the canvas
trunk lid.... While Pam had her large stuffed monkey partway out the window. The
investigator, inquiring as to wether we spoke Spanish or not, ...... both of us
threw our hands in the air with a "no comprende " ! At this point, behind him,
his fellow officers started cracking up. Pam then thrust many Bardahl stickers
out as an offering and the investigating pretty much fell a part, with wide
grins from all.... Upon departure, we switched the music to the Mexican hat
dance, revved the engine and chirped the tires...... Accelerating madly off
towards the distant horizon.... Great fun.
The second event was our long anticipated stop at the pre marked restraunt for
which we arrived early, ( a good hour ahead of our predicted time) and found a
nice cool shady spot under a tree. Pam commentated on the food, and I will say
nothing, accept I finished quickly in order to clean the windshield of the many
bugs, and maybe a short nap. Approaching the car, it looked kind of blurry ?
Damn, if it was't surrounded by millions of flies, all lunching on the thousands
of squashed bugs..... There went the nap ......
